EQ Works Partners With Pattison Media on AI Audience Analytics

EQ Inc. (TSXV: EQ), operating as EQ Works, has entered into a one-year partnership that will embed its ClearLake data and analytics platform into Pattison Media’s advertising operations across Western Canada.

Under the agreement announced September 15, Pattison Media will receive access to EQ’s proprietary data, technology and ClearLake platform. In exchange, Pattison will provide EQ with a multi-million-dollar package of promotional radio advertising inventory across its radio stations and digital news portals.

The consideration is advertising inventory rather than a disclosed cash payment. The announcement did not specify how much revenue EQ expects to recognize from the arrangement, how the media inventory will be valued in its financial statements or whether the partnership includes additional cash-based commercial terms.

ClearLake uses proprietary consumer data, analytics and artificial intelligence to help businesses understand audience behavior and measure advertising outcomes. The integration is intended to allow Pattison Media to connect radio campaign exposure with regional purchasing behavior, build consumer segments and provide advertisers with purchase-attribution analysis.

The companies said the arrangement differs from EQ’s traditional agency relationships because Pattison will incorporate ClearLake directly into its advertiser offering and media infrastructure.

“ClearLake becomes part of how Pattison Media operates, rather than simply a tool used on their behalf,” EQ Works Chief Operating Officer Mark Ditkofsky said.

Pattison Media is a division of the Jim Pattison Group and operates radio stations, television properties and online news platforms across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The initial partnership covers its Western Canadian network, with the possibility of broader expansion as the relationship develops.

EQ also expects Pattison’s promotional reach to support Paymi, its consumer-facing cashback rewards platform. Paymi is part of the company’s Integrated Rewards business, which connects merchant-funded offers with consumer transaction data.

The partnership follows a quarter of sequential growth for EQ, although its year-over-year financial comparisons remained mixed. The company reported second-quarter revenue of C$2.64 million, up 40% from the first quarter but down approximately 14% from C$3.05 million in Q2 2025.

ClearLake revenue increased 57% sequentially to a quarterly record. However, gross profit declined to C$1.05 million from C$1.35 million, while the net loss widened to C$466,000 from C$151,000. Adjusted EBITDA was negative C$185,000, compared with positive C$53,000 one year earlier.

EQ ended the quarter with C$1.15 million in cash, partly reflecting a C$1.1 million convertible-debenture financing completed in May.

Upcoming Catalysts

Future updates may provide details about ClearLake’s implementation across Pattison’s network, advertiser adoption and any measurable contribution to EQ’s platform revenue.

Investors can also monitor whether the partnership expands beyond Western Canada, increases Paymi participation or leads to a longer-term commercial agreement after the initial one-year period. Upcoming financial results should clarify the arrangement’s accounting treatment and whether EQ can convert its platform growth into improved margins and lower losses.
